December 2001

December 2nd The Christmas stuff has started

God, its 3 weeks since I last wrote anything on here! If anyone actually comes back for regular updates - sorry folks! So, what have I been up to? Actually quite a bit for a change!

Am in the process of buying a new car - have fancied a Peugeot 307 for ages and I reckon its about time I got on with getting one. Have been out a few times with dad (my chief negotiator!) and have now ordered one from a garage in Romsey. I have just one question to ask of the motor trade - have none of you heard of customer service like the rest of the retail sector? I have sat and been ignored for 20 minutes in one garage and spent 30 minutes in another while they tried to find some keys for a car for me to test drive. Do they really want to sell cars or not?! I have been told mine will be delivered in a couple of weeks... watch this space!

Went to see "Sunset Boulevard" in Southampton last week - Paul must have enjoyed it cos he ended up crying again! :-) Bless! Highlight of the coming week will be seeing Steps at Wembley - can't wait! This is closely followed by the work Christmas "do" - can definitely wait for that one - would rather not even go!!

We have also booked to go to G.A.Y. at Alexandra Palace on New Year's Eve - should be great!

December 16th Another Steps concert!

Went to the Steps "Gold" concert at Wembley last weekend - had a great time! Several people who have been have said that the last tour was better - but I really enjoyed this one. When I go to things like this I tend to just enjoy the atmosphere and not be too critical!  Was it me or were there less gay people there this time round?

Things went a bit wrong on the way home tho - some poor soul decided to throw himself off a bridge in the path of our train. We ended up stopped in the middle of the New Forest, in the pitch dark with no lights or heating for two and half hours. We finally got home at 5am!

Tickets all booked for G.A.Y at Alexandra Palace for New Year's Eve - should be a laugh.

Oh well, better stop doing this now - been putting off writing Christmas cards all evening!

December 26th The day Steps split

The day has come when Steps announce they have spilt up and I am sad. Not sad to the point of depression or needing counselling, but just sad. I have had some great times "with" Steps over the last few years - at G.A.Y. and at their concerts and generally just mucking about with their dance routines. It was through a shared liking of them that I met Paul. It seems funny to think that it is all over - I know that they were criticised by some, but they knew what they were about, had fun doing it and brought a lot of fun into other people's lives too. My two favourite groups have gone now - Steps and 5ive - any suggestions for some replacements?

On a lighter note, had a brilliant Christmas with my family - my cousin cooked as usual and my two godchildren were perfectly behaved too. What else would you expect from my godchildren! Dad has a computer now so I spent today teaching him the basics - I think there will be lots of telephone calls asking how to get out of tricky situations!
