January 8th

Well, whoopee - it's a new year! Hope you had a good New Year's Eve and all that bollocks! I didn't actually do anything - call me a miserable bastard if you like (don't all shout at once!) Do I sound at all cynical here?!

Christmas was great - big family affair as usual which I love. Amongst other things, Paul bought me tickets for Whistle Down the Wind in London. We went on Wednesday - it was great.  Got pissed at Marc and Mark's on Saturday. That's about it really!

I visited straightacting.com the other day and did their quiz - here's how they rated me as a result:

LEVEL 3 -- MOSTLY STRAIGHT ACTING
"You lead a normal everyday life and it's 'no questions asked' as people just assume you are straight. Every once and awhile a very aware person might notice something that causes them to think 'fem' but it's a fleeting thought because you turn around and surprise them with more masculine traits before they even have time to fully analyse the last one."

Time is really flying by and I haven't updated for a while - sorry!

Spent last weekend in London with Marc and Mark and Paul, of course! On the way up on the coach, Marc had everyone in stitches when, without thinking, he suddenly let out a really loud barking sound when he saw a police dog van in front of us. Well, it was funny at the time!

The main reason for the trip was to see Steps at G.A.Y. (this must be getting a bit repetitive in my diary!) As usual, we had a great night - both Marc and I got all slushy and cried when they sung "It's The Way You Make me Feel" - bit pathetic I know - but we were having such a great time! :-)) The support act were some kids called "Boom" - who were crap - no doubt they will be number one in a couple of weeks! The good thing was that the apartment we rented was only about 10 minutes staggering distance from the club. I say staggering distance, but with a vodka and Red Bull at over £5 each we didn't drink THAT much!!

We have agreed to join a gym!! About time I got rid of the belly that is starting to develop. I have to be careful cos of my back injury but I reckon it will be good... and there is a pool as well, so I can get good at swimming! (I only learnt to swim a couple of years ago after my accident). We WERE going to go and join last night, but Marc and Mark changed their mind - I wonder how often we will all be "changing our minds about going" when we are members! :-)

There was a big thunder storm today - it knocked out part of our scanning system at work and also our communication link with the mainframe computer in London. We had a phone call from Network Control telling us about it. We had visions of these people staring at big screens in London frantically running about and  screaming "Oh my God! We've lost Westbourne!! Come in Westbourne!! Where are you?" - you don't think so? Ok well, maybe we were just being silly!

My - what a totally SHIT day! It all started with a sink - a rather nice new kitchen sink that I ordered from John Lewis back in October and which has been sitting in my parent's garage ever since. Well, today was the day when dad agreed to come and fit it for me.

To cut a VERY long story short we opened the box; most of the bits missing; waited till 12 noon to phone John Lewis; drove to JL; got caught up in roadworks; drove back from JL; rip out the old sink; decide the new one is too difficult for dad to fit; clean up dad; try to put back old sink; dad slips and smashes his front tooth on work top; get the sink put back; washing machine won't work; washing machine works; mum and dad go home; find moths in my clothes. Another fuckin brilliant Sunday!
