May 10th ...home again!
That was such a wonderful holiday. The "Aurora" is a beautiful ship; marble staircases, indoor and outdoor pools, magnificent shows and superb food. You can virtually eat all day if you want to; Paul and I have both put on weight but have had one of the most enjoyable holidays possible. It is great to be pampered - both of us feel so relaxed.
We visited all the ports and still had plenty of time to laze around on deck sipping a long cool drink and getting a decent tan! The Canary Islands each have their own beauty - Lanzarote is virtually barren and yet the volcanic rock is so interesting. The mountains in Tenerife were, by contrast, very green and the narrow winding roads made the coach journey here pretty hair-raising!
Some people imagine cruising to be just for the oldies - but there were plenty of young people on the ship and it had a good nightclub which was open until 4am. Quite a bit of decent "talent" on there too... most of whom turned out to be straight - unfortunately!!
We have had some really good photos taken... there is one below and several others can be found in the gallery.
