November 11th A week off work

Bliss! A whole week off work :-) I REALLY needed it too. We spent a few days in York at the beginning of the week. Its a really nice town (city?) - not exactly full of nightlife but that wasn't really what we were looking for anyway! Well, it was my birthday a couple of weeks ago - I am getting on a bit now! We did all the touristy stuff like the Jorvik Viking Centre (good, but overpriced), York Museum and the National Railway Museum - shit! I'm a trainspotter!! We also climbed the 276 steps to the top of the Minster tower - brilliant view - and wandered round the narrow shopping streets. A really nice break. Back to work tomorrow :-(
