April 1st  Computer problems

Well, I have had the new computer for a few weeks now and the bloody thing keeps dying on me. I think I am single handedly keeping the Microsoft Crash Centre in business with the number of errors I am submitting to them! "Download new drivers" they said to me - done that - it still crashes - "try a different motherboard" was the next option... Like, hello! How many of us have a spare motherboard kicking around?! Over to you PC World!

April 1st  Computer problems go on

The PC World service engineer was supposed to be coming out today. "We will phone by 11 to let you know what time he will be with you" they said. So, I phoned them at 11.15 to be told that they had never said someone would be coming out - they were waiting for the parts to come in. I am slightly baffled as to how they have ordered parts when they haven't actually been out to see the bloody PC! In the meantime, the "sudden deaths" of the computer are becoming more frequent.

I watched part of the procession for the Queen Mother's laying in state. Very sad. We are closing on the day of the funeral until 2pm which I think is quite the right thing to do as we hold her Royal Warrant. I am day off anyway.

April 2nd  Broadband arrives!

We have just signed up for Broadband internet access. It was all switched on today and it is brilliant (in between the PC crashing that is!) We have signed up with Pipex for £23 a month - which isn't that much more than we were paying with BT Internet. It really does make everything much easier when online - real time movies etc become a reality, and downloads just whiz through.

April 9th  The Queen Mother's funeral

Had the day off work today so I went up to Mum and Dad's to watch the funeral with them. I found the service really moving - especially the words of the Archbishop of Canterbury.

April 17th  A Week off work!

At last - a whole Waitrose free week! :-) Had a really good day on Monday at Windsor Castle. We went round all the state rooms, many of which have been completely redone after the fire a few years back. Have to say that they were really impressive. The Queen was in residence but must have been busy or I am sure she would have popped over to say hello. While we were waiting inside the grounds to go into St George's Chapel to see the Queen Mother's grave, a "Waitrose Delivery Service" van drove out from the private apartments. The Queen obviously has taste, but can I never get away from Waitrose?!

Last night had a meal out with my team from work and the Admin Manager from Romsey branch who has been training with us for 3 months. We had a really good time - bad luck anyone from work who wasn't there cos you are bound to have been talked about!! Must have been a good night cos the bill came to £200 for 8 of us! Major headache this morning :-(
