April 2003

Friday 5th April  No work!

Have just got to the end of a week off work and it has been really nice. Stayed the weekend with my parents - was supposed to be going to London with Paul for his grandparent's 50th anniversary but couldn't cos still not feeling well.

On Monday we went to Corfe Castle. It was a gorgeous day - really warm and sunny - and Corfe is a lovely village. My grandparents come from there so it has some real family connections. Spent the rest of the week on days out and shopping - as well some housework dotted about in between.

My headaches have been a bit better this week... only just over a week now until my hospital appointment - hope I can get it sorted out then.

Tuesday 8th April  Back to work...

Well, been back at work a couple of days and it hasn't been that bad. Lots of interviews to do and I still have a new Admin Manager training with me.

today was a bit of a nightmare - was running the branch this afternoon and we got "hit" with shoplifters again... I know they just think that they are stealing from some big company but it does have an effect on the people working there too... it is horrible.

Monday 14th April  Hospital appointment

Finally had my appointment with the specialist about my headaches today - and, to be honest, was a waste of time. He wants me to have an MRI scan - but I have to wait at least 14 weeks for that. He told me that sometimes they never find out what causes people to get headaches - apparently there is an anti-depressant that can sometimes help but I have to go back to my GP about that.

Sunday 27th April  Off to sea again!

Spent the weekend on Ocean Village... its a "new" cruise line aimed at the younger more relaxed market. Actually, it was previously the Arcadia (the ship I went on first) - P&O have converted the ship and set up a new division to operate it.

This was a "shakedown" cruise where P&O staff and friends go on board so that the ship's staff can "practice" on us.

To be honest, I don't like the new format... the service has been downgraded a bit - all the restaurants are now self service and the food isn't as good by any means. We enjoyed ourselves though - especially as the act was Hazel Dean (80s pop star - I didn't remember her at first either!) who did a great act of 80s songs!! Back to my youth!
